We don't get to call out 'hometown heros' often at QZAP, so it's with some pleasure that we give you today's zine… Fuh Cole #3.  Made in Milwaukee in the early 90s, this is a great piece of hystory.  It's got everything: rants against Kinkos and fundies, letters to the editor, local tidbits, cut-n-paste and more. 

Our pal Billy, zinester extraordinaire, has just released his first set of Zinester Trading Cards.  We submited a card for QZAP, and it got included in the first set.  The projct is silly, but it's a nice way to give props to the community of kooky self-publishers.  Assorted sets are $3 plus shipping.

We're feeling a bit rock-n-roll today.  Our pals The Shondes are playing down the street from QZAP HQ, and we thought that giving a shout to some queer music might be in order.  Thus, Queers Make Music from 2011.  Interviews, stories and more from Manchester.  Let's turn it up, shall we?

Sometimes we need something fun to get us over a mid-week hump. This week that “thing” is the most excellent Boobular #2.

It’s been a pretty cold week at QZAP HQ, and seemingly across a lot of North America as well.  Since it’s also still February we were thinking some escapist reading was in order.  How about a nice perzine about sex, road trips, being in the woods, and bumperstickers? The Incredibly True Adventures of a Kid and His Starship #1 has that.

Seriously!  Take Sin Bros. #5 for example.  Totally not a drag…

Zines are great.  Obviously… but for many different reasons.  One of the reasons is that zines can be dangerous.  Subvursive.  Dirty and devious and delicious.  Like The Volcano #3… 

The nice folks at Sex Workers Open University in London sent us some zines, including a copy of Trans Rentboys: Love Don’t Pay the Rent in both English and French.  You can find them all here.

It’s taken about a year, but we’ve finally made it through the transfer of 400+ zines from our old archive software to the new system at archive.qzap.org.  We’re happy to announce that we’re finally adding “new” zines to the digital archive…  Starting with S.C.A.B. from 1988.

We are pleased to announce the release of our new QZAP zine From the Punked Out Files of the Queer Zine Archive Project.  It is the product of the QZAP 2014 summer residency project.  Last summer we invited a number of zine makers, scholars, and archivists to spend time within our physical space, reading and researching.  This is the outcome.
Including work by Rachael House, Jude Vachon, Joshua Burford, Elvis Bakaitis and Kelly McElroy, the zine is 60 pages of short articles, comics, cut-n-paste and mad libs. We have copies available for sale.
